Jenna Perlow

Founder & Director

Jenna founded Log House Literacy after several years teaching Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade. Her passion for teaching reading and her desire to help all children become successful readers led her to the Orton-Gillingham Approach, and eventually to opening a private practice as a full-time Orton-Gillingham tutor. Jenna has been working one-on-one with struggling and dyslexic readers since 2019, and has over 4000 hours of experience providing specialized reading intervention. With requests to work with groups of even younger learners, Jenna discovered her love for teaching preschool children, and the early literacy enrichment classes she designed and teaches have become the highlights of her week.

Jenna has two Master's Degrees in Education and is an Associate-in-Training of the Orton Gillingham Academy. She completed her Classroom Educator coursework through REAP and her Associate Level coursework through the Swift School. Jenna is currently completing her supervised practicum to become a certified Orton-Gillingham Practitioner. Jenna is also trained in Handwriting Without Tears, Lively Letters, and Heggerty.

Prior to becoming an elementary school teacher and tutor, Jenna worked in the field of International Education and Development. She taught ESL, directed a volunteer teaching program in India, managed education improvement programs in the Middle East and Asia, and designed an Oral Language Intervention curriculum for Room to Read, which has since been adopted as a national-level program in Laos.

Jenna lives in Roswell with her husband and daughter. When not reading about the science of reading, Jenna enjoys playing with her little girl, being crafty, listening to podcasts, and going on hikes around Atlanta.
